It is a great addition to my freezer meal components stash. It is a very versatile side dish and I like to serve it with beef stew, sauteed kale, sauteed cabbage cabbage, grilled fish, grilled sausages, Chops, creamy pumpkin leaves, oxtail, okra stew, tripe stew and many more.\n\n<p><strong>Beginner &#8211; Mid Level Expertise<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n<p>2 cups fine corn meal (Mealie Meal\/ Millet or Sorghum)<\/p>\n<p>4 cups water<\/p>\n<p>Salt (optional)<\/p>\n<h2>Equipment<\/h2>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4rm6Lgh\">Stainless Steel Sauce Pan<\/a>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4td4TYi\">Long Wooden Spatula<\/a>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4r4pTPC\">White Corn Meal &#8211; Coarse Ground<\/a>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4r2l60T\">Measuring Cup<\/a>\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3Mm7Xkg\">!\/2 Cup Silicone Souper Cube<\/a>\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3MiICrq\"> Vacuum Food Sealer<\/a>&nbsp;\n\n<h2>Optional Equipment<\/h2>\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3ZjBYnM\">Souper Cubes Water Based Paint Marker<\/a>\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4aAQxcX\"> Cast Iron Potjie Cauldron &#8211; 6 Qt<\/a>&nbsp;\n&nbsp;&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/abantuvillage.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Sadza-Cubes-e1770415356627.jpeg\">\n\n\n\n<h2>Directions<\/h2>\n\n<p>Mix in a pot, 1 cup of corn meal with 1\u00bd cups of cold water to form a smooth paste<\/p>\n<p>Gradually add boiled water, stirring constantly to prevent lumps<\/p>\n<p>Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, then stir in the remainder of the corn meal to achieve your desired consistency<\/p>\n<p>Cook for another 15 minutes, on low to medium heat. Stirring frequently<\/p>\n<p>You want to cook this on low heat, until a thin crust has formed at the bottom of your pot. Cooking on high heat will burn your Sadza<\/p>\n<h2>Tips<\/h2>\n<p>Generally, you use a 1:2 ratio of cornmeal to water and you adjust to your preferred consistency<\/p>\n<p>Using cold water at the beginning will ensure you avoid lumps.
